The facts

At a glance

How likely is it you'll be caught?

It's possible. Do you really want to run the risk of being personally responsible if it happens?

All it takes is one anonymous telephone call to set the wheels in motion. Here's the number: 0845 603 4567.

That number could connect any member of your staff to the Software Anti-Piracy Hotline.

Or they might fill in a confidential report on www.fast.org.uk.

The first thing you'll know about it is a knock at your door. The anti-piracy organisations, by law, are able to enter your premises and check your computer system for illegal and unlicensed software.

If you don't think your employees will tell on you, think again.

If a sacked or disgruntled employee wanted to leave you something to remember, all they'd have to do is install an unlicensed piece of software on your computer system then contact the number above.

It's frighteningly easy.

It might not even be a member of staff. It might be a malicious report by someone you don't even know.

It doesn't matter. It will be followed up. You will be visited.

You have no excuses. You can't plead ignorance. You're responsible for your computer system.

And if you're not keeping an eye on your software, who is?
